We all mastered cutting paper with scissors at an early age, but Colombian artist Diana Beltran Herrera clearly has a penchant for it, taking it to a whole new level with these great works of art. Her attention to detail is striking, and we love her use of colors. Via ppiinnee.com

Jordan 365 Ads by Character

These ads for Jordan 365 (Nike) by Character are simple, sophisticated and dynamic. I love the black and white, and how the star athletes are housed in the logo but breaking out of it at the same time. It’s like stepping out of the shadow of MJ but still paying respect to the legend. Check…

Continuing with the Lego theme (see past posts In honor of President’s Day…, Lego Minimalism, Go With The Flow, recent photos of this ridiculous (in a good way) Lego banister in a Manhattan apartment caught our eye. Wade, a formally trained artist, uses an array of brushes and his hands to…

Polish illustrator/designer Grzegorz Domaradzki has some serious drawing chops. His distinct, graphic style almost looks like it could come to life in animation. This Nike campaign is a great example of his “remastering” technique, where the work starts off as a traditional pencil drawing, then brought into Photoshop. Incredible work. Via iamgabz.com

Anyone who knows Barbour Design as a group knows we have a collective love of food. So this fun, mouthwatering project by Chicago design graduate student Kelly Pratt is close to our hearts (and stomachs). Pratt is in the process of preparing an authentic sandwich for each state, then photographing and designing a poster of…

Australian artist Sean Avery repurposes CDs into intricately sculpted animals, most notably birds. Avery literally layers fragments of broken CDs to form feathers… undoubtedly a painstaking process. His work is apparently in galleries around the world, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not has recently purchased some sculptures for display in their Baltimore and Hollywood museums.…
