BARBOUR DESIGN CRAFTED A PREMIUM MAILER FOR DISNEY AND ESPN MEDIA NETWORKS (DEMN) THAT TURNED PARTNERSHIP INTO AN EXPERIENCE.
The Challenge
Disney and ESPN Media Networks needed to reach 150 affiliate VIPs — with something worthy of their attention. The piece had to feel premium and authentically reflect the breadth and power of the DEMN portfolio, while highlighting new marketing initiatives.
The Risk
With an audience this influential, a generic gift would make the recipient feel under-valued. This mailer had to strike a delicate balance: conceptually smart without being obscure, high-end without being gratuitous, and brand-forward without feeling like a sales pitch.
The Goal
Create a best-in-class premium experience that would surprise and delight recipients, reinforce DEMN's portfolio value, and make the case for partnership in a way that felt personal, memorable, and impossible to ignore.
Barbour developed "The Perfect Blend" — a meticulously curated coffee experience that turned the idea of partnership into something tangible and shareable. Each mailer contained a Chemex® Eight Cup Classic Series Coffeemaker, Chemex® Bonded Filters, a Hario Skerton Ceramic Coffee Mill, and a trio of Stumptown Coffee Roasters blends — all housed in a custom outer box featuring DEMN priority-content imagery and the headline, The Perfect Blend to Connect With Your Customers.
Inside, recipients discovered an insert titled "Ingredients For Success," presenting compelling DEMN network statistics and portfolio highlights. Beneath it, a custom-fabricated tray secured every item and invited recipients to "Brew the Perfect Partnership" — turning the unboxing itself into a branded moment.
The three coffee blends were custom packaged to do double duty as both product and storytelling: a Fusion blend, an SEC Network blend highlighting DEMN's newest properties, and a third blend personalized for each individual affiliate client. Blend descriptions wove network and affiliate partnerships into the copy with warmth and wit — making every recipient feel seen.
The result was a mailer enjoyed, quite literally, down to the last drop.
