Already ahead of the upfronts

It’s upfront season. But, unfortunately, due to Covid-19, several cable and streaming outlets had to cancel their presentations. As networks explore alternative ways of showcasing their programming and advertising opportunities, it occurred it us that we had already tackled this challenge back in 2016 when we developed a digital upfront presentation and online media kit for Participant Media’s lifestyle entertainment network, Pivot.

“A good story well-told can change the world” – Participant Media’s philosophy and the foundation upon which we built Pivot’s upfront. We scripted the presentation to masterfully tell the story of Pivot’s mission to spark change through brand collaboration to bring about change; programming, media and platforms that enable change; and measurable results driven by change. The visual design focused around the Pivot brand and highlighted key messaging and data points that were effectively communicated in various presentation scenarios.

The story continued on in the form of a web-based digital media kit which provided more detailed content to support the upfront messaging. The kit also featured network statistics, target audience profiles, programming descriptions and sizzle reels, accompanying digital platforms and media, branded entertainment case studies and a full ad spec guide with downloadable assets—all accessible anywhere on any device.

Though we miss our beloved upfronts this year, we appreciate and understand very well the creativity and innovation networks have adopted in efforts to share their stories and hope this experience ignites efforts to better integrate digital solutions into future presentations.
